Description
 
1st baseman George Burns, from Niles, Ohio, receives a silver bat, a Studebaker automobile and $1,150 for being named American League's Most Valuable Player for 1926. Burns also was the league's batting champion that year. The presentation was made by Cleveland City Manager W. R. Hopkins on May 21, 1927 at a day honoring Burns and aviator Charles Lindberg at Dunn field. Lindberg also was in attendance. The Indians were playing the New York Yankees.
